Cultural Performance

Our day started at 6 am. We ate breakfast with our host families and then we left to school. The school-day started with the rehearsal of our cultural show. Half past nine the show started. We were quite stressed but in my opinion the entire performance went well. We have prepared a kind of a quiz. The audience were to guess which important figures Matylda, Ola, Przemek and Juri were representing. The last part of our presentation was my piano performance. It was quite a memorable experience. I was to play a piece of music in a gym full of high school students. After all the performances we received a huge applause. The next event in today’s schedule took place in media room. We were interviewed by the PBHS students. That was quite interesting, although some of the questions were really difficult :) In the afternoon we went with my  and Matylda’s host family to the fair. It was a typical American fair. Simply amazing . After a day full of emotions we went to sleep tired but simultaneously ready for the next day. Mateusz Wojnar

It was 25th January - the day of Cultural Showcase Assembly.

Wiktoria and I woke up at 5:30 as on others days. We ate a breakfast and then we went to the school. We met with our Polish group in library and we started rehearsal before our big performance. It was organized in a huge Gymnasium were there should be around 2000 students. It was two hours of being stressed. When the show just started we were ready. Our group prepared a performance presenting famous Polish people known around the world. Five of six prepared such figure as Maria Skłodowska Curie, Lech Wałęsa, Mikołaj Kopernik, Pola Negri and Robert Lewandowski. Mateusz made something special for the end: he played the piano "Polonez" in over eight minutes. Audience was impressed by his talent. All our performances went well and what was really surprising

 that we done something different than the other countries such as dancing or singing. On the rest of the school day, we had a great opportunity to take part in International Seminars about Spain or Advanced Technology. It showed many bariery of activities for young people who want to do their own businesses. Then the guests were interviewed by journalism students to the newspaper, television and the yearbook. They asked about schools, differences between their countries and many other things. After my friends and I done that, we went to the IT classes were we tried really cool simulation with smart glasses, which makes you feel like in other place. 

Afterward, the school ended! My host father took me and Wiktoria for some shopping and then finally after five days of being at Pompano Beach, we went to the beach! It was fantastic! The sand was warm, the sun was going down and the weather was just perfect. A water wasn't as cold as I thought it would be. Actually, water's temperature was higher than in Baltic Sea. Rest of the evening we stayed at home and ordered a pizza. We talked a lot with our host family till we got tired and we wanted to go to beds. 

Beside very comprehensive performance, it was the first day in that whole trips when we had a time to sit down and have time to our great host Family. By Aleksandra Zyss .
